FAQ
What type of harp do you bring?
Amy plays a Dusty Strings Ravenna 34 Celtic Lever harp, which means it is best suited for “lever harp” music and Celtic music. It is made from birch and ash, and weighs around 11kg. There is a pickup installed for easy amplification, and it has a warm and bright tone. It is pictured above.
What do I need to provide?
The setup requires approximately 1.5m square of space. If playing outside, shade and shelter against rain and sun must be provided or available upon need.
I bring everything needed, including music stands/equipment and battery-powered amp. You are welcome to further amplify this setup.
What kind of pieces do you play?
My repertoire includes pieces in styles such as Celtic, Renaissance, traditional, film and game soundtracks, classic and popular songs, and some Classical. I have included a sampler audio below to show the sound and style.
Can I choose the songs in a programme?
Absolutely! You can pick individual pieces from my Repertoire List (see below), or if you’re unsure we can discuss the style you normally like – from there you can trust me to craft a programme that will delight you and your guests!
Can I request songs not on the list, or a custom programme?
Yes! However, I usually need time to prepare pieces in advance, and they must be appropriate for Lever harp. If you need a piece arranged specially for harp, this will take more time and may incur additional costs while I source scores or transcribe it for harp. We can talk about this during the booking process.
